Nokia Lumia Coffee Tab tablet

One great thing about concepts would be this – you, as the designer, are not bound to the limitations of the physical and design aspects in the real world, but instead, you can let your imagination run free. The Lumia Coffee Tab tablet that was recently unearthed could very well point towards a future tablet device from the Finnish smartphone company. Right now, Nokia does not have any tablet in the market, but with the advent of Windows 8, things might change eventually. I for one, would like to see Nokia play a greater role in the smartphone and tablet markets after being “revived” by making Windows Phone as their operating system of choice. Just what does the Lumia Coffee Tab tablet concept hold?

For starters, there is a 1.4GHz processor, 512MB RAM, a choice of internal memory that starts from 16GB and goes all the way to 64GB, a 9.7″ AMOLED clearback display at 1,280 × 800 resolution, an 8-megapixel shooter at the back, while a 2-megapixel shooter is located in front for video calls, rounded off by Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity. Since Windows 8 tablet edition is its operating system of choice, you know for sure this going to be worth looking at when it arrives.

The camera isn’t in the middle but in the top left corner (so not impeded I guess when held in landscape with two hands). I’m not sure if those buttons are hardware or appear with the Windows 8 swipe. There’s even a nice picture below where its set in natural surroundings.

  • Lumia “coffee” tab
  • 1.4GHz cpu
  • 512Mb ram
  • 16/32/64Gb storage
  • 9.7″ AMOLED “clearblack” display (1280×800)
  • 8Mp Rear camera, 2Mp front facing camera
  • Windows 8 tablet edition
  • Wifi/3G connectivity
